We had good dinner experience at the restaurant today. We ordered Mysore Masala, plain masala, paper masala, and onion chilli dosas, as well as mendu vada and some other items. Everything tasted great. Staff members were helpful and courteous! Highly recommend this restaurant if you are craving vegetarian South Indian food. 🙏🙏

My experience in Saravanaa Bhavan is quite good. I had Mysore Masala Dosa and Paper Dosa. Both are good.
Front Staff :- They forget the hospitality of Indians. Owner / The Boss should make sure that your staff welcomes customers with a smile , greetings and guidance. The food is really good but the hospitality is not up to the mark. It's a request. If you change this you will get more business. 🙏.

Food is delicious. I’m pregnant and feel like a home made food taste. It’s really worth it but servant lady so rude she don’t want to welcome the guest and when we make a online payment we don’t add tips we think we will give cash but she behaves like impertinent . We went for a weekend brunch and upon arrival the restaurant was crowded and lively. There was a bit of a wait (15 min) before we were seated. After being seated, we waited probably another 15 min before a someone came to take our order. We asked for water and glasses twice. Service was slow and just pitiful. Food was fresh and decently good. That’s probably the reason people come back. We ordered mostly dosas, masala and plain, gobhi manchurian and a savory semolina dish. Each dosa was served with chutneys and sambar. Gobhi Manchurian was delicious. The semolina dish we ordered didn’t arrive until we finished our food and husband was at the counter paying. That’s how slow the service there was. We told them we didn’t want it at that point. Overall, service is nonexistent but if you’re craving veg and want fresh dosas, then it’s worth coming.

I have eaten here many times, the food is wonderful! I was not very familiar with the cuisine when I first came and started with the combo#1 💗 Everything! The owner remembers us when we come in and spent extra time with us today to give new recommendations on the Special entree AMAZING and helped me with the best way to enjoy the different curries that came with it! I appreciated the help and recommendations! I love it here even more!!
They do have busy times, which should show you how good the food is - it's worth the wait!!

I have been to many sarvana Bhavans in US but this is the best branch in my openion . Every item I have ordered is so delicious, if you happen to visit this location don’t forget to eat their gobi 65 , paneer butter masala , kadai paneer and needless to say they have amazing thali . Most important point is the way they treat their customers a special shout out to Santosh and Sarani who took such a good care of me and my friends during our visit. I highly recommend this place

We’ve been here several times, the manager is extremely attentive and caters to customers needs. He custom makes orders to our taste. I recently met the new server who was a bit off putting, kept confirming the same order multiple times and then came back again to confirm twice more 🤯🤯 by then my folks were through eating !! However the manager was very welcoming and personally tended to us. Other than a little hiccup with the new young lady server, we love the place and HIGHLY recommend it!!

Saravanaa Bhavan is one of those places where you can always expect a consistent and great menu. As someone who has visited the chain of restaurants in the past, I went in fully knowing what to expect. And as always, the food hits the spot!

Plenty of parking. The amount of time you have to wait will depend on when you go in. My family of 10 people stopped for a late lunch. It took us about 10 minutes to be seated.

The one thing they could improve is service. We were seated at the far end of the restaurant. So obviously, the waiter checked on us not often. Also, they forgot an item that I ordered. It was an extra add-on Porotta so I didn't mind it. But shows a lack of attention to service.

Prices are typical for what you might expect from a restaurant like this. Our group of 10 people (8 adults and 2 kids) rang up $190.

The menu is vast and vegetarian, so you will find something of interest and won't miss the meat!

I've visited often and tried different dishes. The mutter paneer, samosas, mushroom biryani, garlic naan, and paneer Kadai are all excellent choices if you are new to Indian food.

I recently took a couple friends to try Indian for the first time, and they fell in love! This is definitely worth the visit!

Some things to note:
*A couple of the servers do not speak English as their first language. However, every server has been deferential and polite and are fully capable of taking your order.

*The food can take a moment to come out. It's being cooked fresh, I believe.

*They do not take Tap to Pay, but do take cash or card.

*The patrons seem mostly from India and the surrounding region.
(I know this may not be the most appropriate statement, but I find encouragement about the menu, when a restaurant is predominantly frequented by the patrons who eat the same food at home.... It's a salute to the authenticity and taste to me!)

Weather was very cold so the restaurant was quiet. Service was attentive, but not intrusive. Food was served quickly, and was delicious! We loved everything we bought. We will definitely return. I rated down on atmosphere because we were seated next to a window which had a lot of water damage: peeling or peeled paint, mold. The rest of the restaurant looked clean and neat, but they need to get this one window fixed.

I have been here twice now. Just love it! The people are warm and inviting. All the food is fresh and made to order. Don’t go here when you are in a hurry because it takes time to cook your food. It’s a dining experience. The second time I ate here I took my mother. She couldn’t beleive how good the food was and neither one of us got sick. She and I have food sensitivities. The waiter asked us about ours. The owner came out and helped us choose dishes. There was plenty of food. I even had food to take home. The flavor was amazing. My 79 yo mom loved that it wasn’t overly spicy.
I like coming to Saravanaa Bhavan because it’s vegetarian. There’s not enough vegetarian restaurants in my area. This place is really a treat. You don’t need need to feel full and satisfied.

I have visited Saravana Bhavan in Chennai, Kanchipuram, New Delhi, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Toronto, and every location in the US.
This chain provides consistent taste, prompt service and freshly prepared food served in an Impeccably clean environment. You will never have any trouble after eating their food.
Amongst all of SBs I have visited, my favorites are Alandur (Chennai) and Sugar Land (Texas).
Although all SBs have identical taste (and in most cases menu too), Sugar Land SB is my favorite because of the staff. Manager is personally paying attention to the guests, and staff is quick to respond. Their special meal is generously sized and instead of you having to ask for extra serving of day curry, manager or his staff will be asking if you need anything. For the Indian population it serves, wait time is under 5 minutes (compared to smaller SB in Plano, TX where it could be 30+ minutes on Friday/Saturday). Most SBs have a congested layout, not this one. Not only this location is spacious, the ambiance is pleasing.
As I said, all SBs have consistent menu, taste, cleanliness and this location stands apart for the personalized attention by the manager and staff. Whenever in Houston, give it a try.

We had good dinner experience at the restaurant today. We ordered Mysore Masala, plain masala, paper masala, and onion chilli dosas, as well as mendu vada and some other items. My experience in Saravanaa Bhavan is quite good. I had Mysore Masala Dosa and Paper Dosa. Both are good.
Front Staff :- They forget the hospitality of Indians. Owner / The Boss should make sure that your staff welcomes customers with a smile , greetings and guidance. The food is really good but the hospitality is not up to the mark. It's a request. If you change this you will get more business. 🙏.

We went for a weekend brunch and upon arrival the restaurant was crowded and lively. There was a bit of a wait (15 min) before we were seated. After being seated, we waited probably another 15 min before a someone came to take our order. We asked for water and glasses twice. Service was slow and just pitiful. Food was fresh and decently good. That’s probably the reason people come back. We ordered mostly dosas, masala and plain, gobhi manchurian and a savory semolina dish. Each dosa was served with chutneys and sambar. Gobhi Manchurian was delicious. The semolina dish we ordered didn’t arrive until we finished our food and husband was at the counter paying. That’s how slow the service there was. We told them we didn’t want it at that point. Overall, service is nonexistent but if you’re craving veg and want fresh dosas, then it’s worth coming.

I have been to many sarvana Bhavans in US but this is the best branch in my openion . Every item I have ordered is so delicious, if you happen to visit this location don’t forget to eat their gobi 65 , paneer butter masala , kadai paneer and needless to say they have amazing thali . Saravanaa Bhavan is one of those places where you can always expect a consistent and great menu. As someone who has visited the chain of restaurants in the past, I went in fully knowing what to expect. And as always, the food hits the spot!

Plenty of parking. The amount of time you have to wait will depend on when you go in. My family of 10 people stopped for a late lunch. It took us about 10 minutes to be seated.

The one thing they could improve is service. We were seated at the far end of the restaurant. So obviously, the waiter checked on us not often. Also, they forgot an item that I ordered. It was an extra add-on Porotta so I didn't mind it. But shows a lack of attention to service.

Prices are typical for what you might expect from a restaurant like this. Our group of 10 people (8 adults and 2 kids) rang up $190.

I've visited often and tried different dishes. The mutter paneer, samosas, mushroom biryani, garlic naan, and paneer Kadai are all excellent choices if you are new to Indian food.

I recently took a couple friends to try Indian for the first time, and they fell in love! This is definitely worth the visit!

Some things to note:
*A couple of the servers do not speak English as their first language. However, every server has been deferential and polite and are fully capable of taking your order.

*The food can take a moment to come out. It's being cooked fresh, I believe.

*They do not take Tap to Pay, but do take cash or card.

*The patrons seem mostly from India and the surrounding region.
(I know this may not be the most appropriate statement, but I find encouragement about the menu, when a restaurant is predominantly frequented by the patrons who eat the same food at home.... It's a salute to the authenticity and taste to me!)

I have been here twice now. Just love it! The people are warm and inviting. All the food is fresh and made to order. Don’t go here when you are in a hurry because it takes time to cook your food. It’s a dining experience. The second time I ate here I took my mother. She couldn’t beleive how good the food was and neither one of us got sick. She and I have food sensitivities. The waiter asked us about ours. The owner came out and helped us choose dishes. There was plenty of food. I even had food to take home. The flavor was amazing. My 79 yo mom loved that it wasn’t overly spicy.
I like coming to Saravanaa Bhavan because it’s vegetarian. There’s not enough vegetarian restaurants in my area. This place is really a treat. You don’t need need to feel full and satisfied.

I have visited Saravana Bhavan in Chennai, Kanchipuram, New Delhi, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Toronto, and every location in the US.
This chain provides consistent taste, prompt service and freshly prepared food served in an Impeccably clean environment. You will never have any trouble after eating their food.
Amongst all of SBs I have visited, my favorites are Alandur (Chennai) and Sugar Land (Texas).
Although all SBs have identical taste (and in most cases menu too), Sugar Land SB is my favorite because of the staff. Manager is personally paying attention to the guests, and staff is quick to respond. Their special meal is generously sized and instead of you having to ask for extra serving of day curry, manager or his staff will be asking if you need anything. For the Indian population it serves, wait time is under 5 minutes (compared to smaller SB in Plano, TX where it could be 30+ minutes on Friday/Saturday). Most SBs have a congested layout, not this one. Not only this location is spacious, the ambiance is pleasing.
As I said, all SBs have consistent menu, taste, cleanliness and this location stands apart for the personalized attention by the manager and staff. Whenever in Houston, give it a try.
